This is a pair of large Baccarat crystal chandeliers are exceptionally refined examples.
Each chandelier has a two-tier composition. A tall, tapering upper canopy formed from cascading crystal drops and beaded swags with a broad lower corona supporting the candle arms. The silhouette is elegant and vertical, giving grandeur without heaviness.
Made from high-quality crystal, evident from the exceptional clarity and brilliance, deeply cut faceted elements that refract light with strong prismatic sparkle.
The chandeliers are richly dressed with hand-cut crystal beads arranged in dense chains. Almond-shaped drops and large faceted crystal balls are suspended around the lower rim. The crystal swags are tightly and symmetrically arranged, showing master-level craftsmanship. Each chandelier features multiple candle-style lights with 16 arms per chandelier. Faux candle sleeves in ivory/cream topped with candle flame shaped bulbs. The lights are evenly spaced around the circular frame, creating a strong, balanced glow.
The metal elements appear to be gilded or ormolu-finished bronze, typical of Baccarat: Decorative crown finials at the top. Subtle metal framework is designed to disappear behind the crystal rather than dominate it. Strongly influenced by 18th-century French palace chandeliers, but likely produced in the late 19th or early 20th century, when Baccarat excelled at grand decorative lighting for hôtels particuliers and châteaux. Designed for formal interiors: grand salons, ballrooms, or entrance halls with high ceilings.
These chandeliers project luxury, symmetry, and classical French elegance. As a pair, they would have been intended for a large, prestigious space—often installed to mirror each other in a ballroom or state room.
