Small Register Marked Faraday & Son Glass and Brass Strawberry Lantern

Faraday & Son light, the shade with applied drizzled cranberry glass in the form of a strawberry, circa 1900. The crown of hand wrought brasswork. English, 20th century.

The frame is register marked as Faraday & Son. Robert Faraday had a foundry in Wardour St. London between 1825-1919 and then it was sold to the Osler company. An important figure during the turn of the century in striving to produce safer gas lighting, and was a pioneer in manufacturing electric lamps.
